Ollie Pope was pushing forward with hard hands right from the word go. He doesn’t cover for the angle and gets a thick edge off R Ashwin. It went low and in front of Rohit Sharma at slip, with the Indian captain diving forward to gets his fingers under the ball. England have lost two wickets in quick succession after the 55-run partnership between Ben Duckett and Zac Crawley.
Having won the toss and unsurprisingly opted to bat, England scored a boundary each in the first eight overs, all by pacers, before Ashwin drew first blood for India by trapping Duckett in front.
