Big Ten hockey coaches believe Chicago Blackhawks' prospect Landon Slaggert is one of the best players in the conference. The Hawks' 2020 third-round pick made the 2022-23 Preseason All-Big Ten Hockey Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

It's been a busy summer for Slaggert, who served as an alternate captain for Team USA at the 2022 World Juniors. The 20-year-old scored six points (two goals, four assists) in five games at the tournament.

Now, Slaggert figures to play a key role on the ice and in the locker room for Notre Dame as he enters his junior season.

In his first season with the Irish, the rugged forward had 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) and earned the team's Rookie of the Year award. He will look to build on a solid sophomore season that saw him record 26 points (12 goals, 14 assists).
